Using TempGenerator

Service rules

Last updated:

TempGenerator provides short-lived, receive-only email inboxes. Use them for low-sensitivity messages you can afford to lose. These rules explain the service’s limits and the behavior we allow.

Choose the right inbox for the task

Do not use a temporary address for banking, medical records, confidential messages, essential account recovery, or purchases whose receipts you need to keep. Use a permanent address you control for important accounts. TempGenerator does not promise anonymous communication, permanent storage, or successful delivery from every sender.

Expiry, deletion, and address changes

The inbox displays its remaining lifetime. Messages may become unavailable after expiry or deletion; we cannot promise to recover them. Clearing browser storage or using a private window can also remove the reference needed to reopen an inbox. On a shared computer, delete the inbox before you leave. Save anything you need before leaving, and avoid putting sensitive information in the inbox in the first place.

Address changes and deletion are rate limited. Follow the countdown shown in the interface rather than repeatedly requesting another address. A delivery delay is not a reason to bypass that limit.

Optional accounts and chosen names

Random addresses do not require an account. Choosing an email name on the website requires an account registered with an accepted permanent email provider and confirmation of that email address with a one-time code. A chosen name must be available. Reserving a name does not make its messages permanent or turn the service into a conventional mailbox.

Every address name, random or chosen, is given out only once and never to anyone else, even after its address ends; only the account that reserved a name can use it again. Choosing a name lets you use it on TempGenerator while your account exists; it does not make you its owner. We may refuse or end a name that is offensive, impersonates someone, or is used to break these rules or the law.

You can delete your account at any time, on your account page or in the Temp Mail app. Your names stay locked afterwards, so nobody can ever receive mail meant for you.

Keep your password and email codes private. Do not impersonate another person or organization through an account name or temporary address.

Responsible use

  • Follow the rules of any website where you enter a temporary address. Some services do not accept disposable email.
  • Do not use the service for fraud, phishing, harassment, malware, or unauthorized access to someone else’s messages.
  • Do not bypass payment requirements, account restrictions, trial limits, or student and workplace eligibility checks.
  • Do not overload the service or evade its technical protections and rate limits.

Links and attachments

Incoming content belongs to its sender. Displaying a message does not mean TempGenerator endorses its links or has verified its attachments. Check the destination before opening a link, and do not download unexpected files or enter a password on an unfamiliar website.

Availability and reports

Mail can be delayed, rejected by a sender, or interrupted by maintenance. Use the FAQ for troubleshooting. We may restrict abusive activity to protect the service.

To report abuse or a service problem, use the contact form. Include the approximate time and relevant address or page URL, but do not send passwords, verification codes, reset links, or private message contents. For information about data handling, read our Privacy Policy.
