How to make a random pick

      1. Choose one of nine pickers. For a wheel, names, teams or a shuffle, paste one choice per line or start with an example.
      2. Set the options for your picker. Animation is on by default; choose Normal, Quick or Off whenever you like.
      3. Start the pick and watch the result reveal. You can skip the animation, copy or download the result, and revisit the last 20 results during this session.

Changing the list, range or rules starts a fresh pool. Changing the result quantity keeps the remaining choices. Switching pickers preserves each picker’s pool.

      One place for everyday decisions

Choose a speaker, decide what to eat, set a random order, build teams, pick numbers or dates, toss a coin, or roll dice. Keep each person clearly named when two share a name.

Use Make teams to assign every list entry once to randomly formed teams. Team sizes differ by at most one; skills and other personal attributes are not considered.

      What makes a draw fair?

The browser's cryptographic random source supplies 32-bit values. Rejection sampling discards the incomplete numeric bucket before choosing an index, avoiding modulo bias. Each eligible ticket has equal probability at each selection; selected tickets are removed within the draw.

Four distinct tickets: each has a 1 in 4 chance for the first pick.
      Keep A twice: A has 2 of 4 tickets, so its first-pick chance is 1 in 2.

Fairness depends on your input rules. This page offers no independent audit, saved proof, identity checks or certified raffle record. For a regulated or valuable draw, use an appropriate documented process. Animation never changes the selected result.

      Questions about your draw

Why did the same name win again?

With no-repeat off, every draw starts from the full list. With duplicates kept, separate tickets can have the same label—even in one draw. Remove duplicates and enable no-repeat if each label should win only once; Reset draws restores the full list.

Is my list saved or shared?

The picker keeps your list and up to 20 recent results only in page memory. It does not upload them or save them in cookies or local storage. Reloading or leaving ends the session. Copy sends the result to your clipboard; Download creates a file on your device.

      Can I control the animation?

Yes. Normal animation is on by default for every picker. Choose Quick for a shorter reveal or Off for an immediate result, or use Show result during an animation. Device reduced-motion preferences are respected. Animation never changes the selected result.
